Guppies!

I made a whole school of these sweet little fish for a lovely lady in Derbyshire, and decided I really had to add them to the shop!

... and Sun Guppy are two of the fishies in the shop at present (the rosy turquoise one is a third).

The Guppies were inspired by Ro's drawing of a flying fish (maybe I'll add wings at some point!).

I think they have such friendly smiles.

These sweet, happy fish would look lovely in a nursery, or on a shelf or sofa -- anywhere really! They would love to listen to you ramble or watch you try to figure out how your computer works.

Monogram bracelets!

I made a whole bunch of these for an order of party favours, and decided to add them to the shop. They're Monogram friendship bracelets!

Each bracelet is one-of-a-kind, and can have an initial or 3-letter monogram spelt out in silver alphabet cubes.

They're a slightly different take on my Name Day bracelets -- sort of petite-r and more delicate. They're sweet little things, perfect as goody bag stuffers, and look lovely stacked! Find them here.

* Psst -- don't miss out on this giveaway, ending April 16th!

monogram Tabby!

I was so happy with how this Tabby satchel turned out. It's for a little girl all the way in Zambia, and it has something extra special -- a monogram!

The lady who requested it asked that it be all in lower case letters, and I chose to embroider this sweet, playful font. It was rather a laborious job, and I was petrified that I'd mess it up, which would mean starting all over again -- repainting Tabby and everything. I can't tell you the number of times I kept checking the spelling lol! Thankfully, God blessed my efforts :)

I got to choose the inner lining, and I picked this adorable monkey fabric...

... and vintage school book print for the pocket :) Yay for vibrant colours and happy endings!

grown-up Tabby!

A custom Tabby satchel for a lovely lady who said she wanted "an elegant, refined Tabby". She chose the simple woody fabric for both the bag exterior and strap.

But I gave her the pop of colour inside haha! She requested a pocket sized to fit her phone, so I gave her a double pocket to fit in her pencils and tissues as well.

I think Tabby is perfectly at home with monochrome too, don't you?

Sailor Tabby!

Mrrrow! It's Tabby Cat in huggable form -- wearing his sailor jumper and a natty red collar! Sailor Tabby is sewn and handpainted on cream linen and cotton, and measures about 11 3/4" from his umber-tipped ears to his feety-paws. A lovely lady in Portland ordered a pair of Tabby dollies and this Tabby was a prototype, so he's specially priced, and OOAK :)

Lookie -- Sailor Tabby's jumper has a neat sailor flap in the back.

He makes a most unusual, natty accessory on the arm of any chic little person, or on the dresser top or bookshelf of any room. Available here.

Ghostlets!

A handful of Ghostlet pins from a custom order for party favours! These sweet little fellows fit snugly in one's palm, and, without pinbacks, make happy companions who fit perfectly in a pocket, or propped up on a bookshelf. They're pudgy too, and it's sometimes quite tempting to treat them like those squishy stress balls!

The backs of these pins have an unexpected pop of colour and pattern, making each of them OOAK -- this one, for instance, shows Humpty Dumpty sitting on a wall!

Don't they have the kindest faces? They'd look so sweet pinned to a satchel or peacoat collar. I'm thinking I shall list them in the shop on a made-to-order basis, but that will have to wait till next week -- I'm off on a little holiday, yay! Have a super lovely weekend, dear friends; see you soon!

Tabbies!

Tabby satchels have been surprisingly popular since I started making them, and I've had many requests especially for custom ones. I've been intrigued to observe though, that while I offer customers pretty much free rein with regard to colours and prints, they invariably choose the same fabrics they see in my shop pictures, or some combination thereof. So I thought I'd make some ready-to-ship ones using different fabrics, just to give people some idea that Tabby really does like colour :)

This Tabby features a grey seaweed print, with a happy pop of bright pink and tangerine for the lining and strap.

An additional cute thing is the inner pocket, which is made of linen printed with Parisian landmarks -- I like the unexpected bits of blue and turquoise.

This Tabby is made of an adorable Parisian park-printed linen.

There is an entire market scene on the other side, complete with poodle, Dior-style outfit and flower stand.

Seaweed and Parisian Tabbies are available here and here :)

*** Hello dear friends -- thank you so much again for your good wishes. I am still under the weather, and shall also be away till mid-December, with little or no access to a computer, so the shop (and blog) will be taking a little break till then. I trust to catch up with all of you in time for Christmas, and wish you a peaceful, blessed season in the meantime :) ***

Tweedy

A new movie, with a very dear friend of Inky the Octopus!

tweedy shop4a
This is Tweedy, our eight-legged star! Tweedy is a charming little fellow made entirely of heathered black wool yarn. He loves reading, and looking at the stars, and well, obviously he loves lounging about on things as well. Tweedy would make a dear companion, as well as an adorable addition to a nursery or bookshelf. He's perfect for Halloween too!

Tweedy is in the shop now, looking for a loving home with lots of toast and tinned pineapple. Who knows, he might make another film in the meantime haha!

grown-up Tabby

adult tabby1 blog
The Tabby satchel in a grown-up size! This particular satchel was made for a sweet young lady in Illinois.

adult tabby4
It's sized a good 11x10", and holds a great many things, including a fat copy of Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell. There's an inner pocket as well for easy access to keys and pens and cellphone and such. This particular satchel had an adorable teapot pocket. You can get your own customisable satchel here :)

Inky

More movie experimentation! This was 38 frames for just 24 seconds of film -- effortful! I've read that it takes an average 1,440 frames to make one minute of film -- you just have to marvel at the people who do entire movies.

Inky 046a
But here is Inky, the star of the show! Inky is a sweet little fellow made entirely of black yarn. He loves reading, and listening to dinner conversations, and well, obviously he loves lounging about on things as well. Inky would make a charming companion, as well as an adorable addition to a nursery or bookshelf. He's perfect for Halloween too!

Inky 045a
Inky is in the shop now, though I must admit to feeling greatly tempted to keep him. Perhaps for more exciting films haha!
See you soon!

Real Cats

cat mont

It's the Bikbik & Roro kitties looking like Real Cats! OK, well, until I can think of a better name for these fellows, that's what they're going to be. While I was making 25 of them as party favours, B came along and said, "Oh, it's Tabby Cat, but looking real". And so I decided to call them Real Cats. Anyway, I think they're sweet no matter what they're called, don't you?

grey cat shop2

I decided to put a couple in the shop, including an all-black one in honour of Halloween! The pins are original illustrations on heavyweight paper, mounted on illustration board, and protected by several layers of varnish. Every Real Cat pin is hand-drawn and hand-cut, making each one a unique work of art. They're adorable and retro and rustic all at the same time. Wear one, or several together to create your own special clowder!

Tabby satchel

shop3a

Now you can bring Tabby Cat on all your adventures! This messenger-style satchel features a carefully hand-painted Tabby Cat pocket where you can tuck in goodies like crayons, sweets, tissues, and, if you're really cool, an iPod!

I made this satchel specially for little kids; I based it on the satchels I made for my own kids to carry their books and toys and markers and things in when we go out, or to keep the things they pick up along the way -- like bank brochures! In this picture, the satchel is holding 4 hardcovers (and some crayons). Super easy to use and not at all fiddly, and I like that my kids have their hands free.

You can find this satchel here. Email me if you'd like a similar satchel in a different colour, or grown-up size :)

Remember what I'd said about goodie adoption heartache? Well then you can imagine my absolute delight at seeing my pins -- and even my packaging! -- on Ms Megan's lovely blog, Moonbeam Wishes. Thank you so much Megan! Megan herself is a nimble-fingered crafter; you can find these embroidered lovelies and more at her Etsy shop, Dear Moonbeams.
