Coppélia reprised

Well, on a happier note, here are some pictures from a recent performance of Coppélia the girls went to see (well, not from the ballet itself, since recording equipment is forbidden in the concert hall, but close enough). They're both taking ballet, and are very keen on it, so we go whenever we can.

B dancing during the intermission.

An art installation made up of circling paper birds.

It's not often they get to wear their silk dresses! Happily, no one spilled anything.

One half of the Esplanade Theatres.

Ballet -- and a serene night under the stars -- can make one feel quite dreamy (see B's post here).

Becky will be having her own ballet performance very soon; her next RAD exam is coming up in less than a week.

It's good to see young kids taking an active interest in the arts -- of their own accord, and not because they were forced into it (remember those piano lessons you had?).

My sweet :)

Your girls are so cute and it's lovely that they've adopted cultural interests at such a young age.

Becky has such beautiful form! i do believe if she's really passionate & perseveres, she will make it. Who knows, first S'pore Dance Theatre, next wow, NY City Ballet! & she won't be the 1st S'porean to cause a stir, i seem to recall a Goh Choo San who even created new ballets that were performed internationally.

This post is so sweet! The girls looks so cute! Oh gosh, my mom made me take piano lessons for years. I didn't mind the lessons, but we had recitals. I hate anything that I HAVE to do. LOL I did well, but didn't enjoy it. I was in ballet and creative dance for a couple of years, but I was became too tall for ballet. Glad to see that they had a great time and you are exposing them to wonderful things. Is your blog on bloglovin? I've been reading blogs on my phone through it. I just logged on the computer today. Your little girls are so very sweet - really adorable. I think it's great when kids have interests that they genuinely love and not because their parents have decided they should be doing it. I remember seeing those theatres from my hotel room and wondering what they were like inside - now I know!

So cute! Your girls are adorable. It must be fun to watch them dancing. And I also like when kids take an interest in the arts, especially when they do it because they want to!

beautiful! how old were your girls when they started dance? I'd like Kinsey to try it this summer (she'll be 4) wonder if that is a good age?

A night at the ballet, how wonderful!
I took several years of ballet as a child and absolutely loved it!

Good luck to Becky, and both of the girls are absolutely adorable.

Wonderful photos! Ballet is one of those arts we can get lost in. Sometimes a performance will be shown on a public television station and I just have to watch! I am sure the girls love dancing!

Such a darling post B&R! Your daughters are lovely, and they are fortunate to be experiencing so many artistic things. I went to Becky's blog and became a follower. It's really charming! If only all kidlets could have the wonderful start in life that you are giving your girls! Have a good one!
