and speaking of tattoos...

... a lady in Los Angeles wrote to me a few days ago to tell me she was "so enamored" of my sailor Hep Cat, that she'd actually had him tattooed on her wrist! She wrote, "I love him. I had been in search of the perfect, fun cat tattoo", and had found Hep Cat's picture on Pinterest.

Well, I can tell you I was speechless for more than a few seconds at first! Who would've thunk it? Then I sort of screamed (AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!) and thanked the lady for the great compliment, as well as for being so decent as to let me know (boo to people who shamelessly copy your ideas and work without first asking, or crediting you!).

When I told the hubs, he said, "Sue her for an arm" -- that's his humour for you! Do you have tattoos, or have you ever loved someone's art so much that you had it tattooed on you? The lady said she would send me better pictures of her new tattoo when it was all healed, so I'm looking forward to that! "Thank you for creating something so lovely that it inspired me to have it forever!" she wrote, which is certainly a sweet, though most unexpected, tribute!

Now that's a fan! HaHaHa No tatoos. Almost once! I think I was thinking about getting two cherries on my ankle or something. Never followed through. It's just not me. I admire the artistry though.

Yes, she should have asked. Odd that she didn't.

I do have a Snoopy & Woodstock tattoo on my ankle and it want't until I read this post that I even considered copyright!

You made a complete stranger happy and she took it to the highest level. Fantastic! No tattoos for me, though I did interview a tattoo artist for a newspaper story.

The lady's OWN cat looks pretty unimpressed that IT did not serve as the tattoo model. (Cute tat, though)

I'm not against tattoos but they are not for me. I would never be able to decide on a tattoo that I could live with forever and forever - guess I'm fickle! One day my favorite color is turquoise blue and the next it is raspberry purple the day after that it may be sunrise yellow or vivid chartreuse . :)

What a wonderful compliment, Janice! Hep Cat is indeed one cool kitty. I've had several folks ask my permission to use a photo from my blog for their own creative projects...and I've always been flattered and grateful that they asked, as I know many have used my photos without asking. Quite likely, folks will see her Hep Cat tattoo and want their very own Hep Cat. :-)

I loved what your husband said, by the way.
